Colonel (Retd.) K.C. Mishra — From National Defense to Nature’s Defense
“A soldier never retires; he simply changes his battlefield.”
Colonel K.C. Mishra (Retd.), a proud son of Masti, embodies this spirit through his lifelong journey — from defending the nation on the frontlines to safeguarding the environment through natural farming and ecological innovation.
Colonel Mishra began his career in 1971, just two months before the Indo-Pak war, joining the Corps of Signals as a Telecom Technician. His early years were marked by discipline, courage, and a constant drive for learning. Alongside his military duties, he excelled in boxing, reaching the Junior National level, and pursued higher education relentlessly, completing a Diploma in Telecommunication, Diploma in Systems Engineering, and Advanced Electronics in Systems Engineering. His exceptional service earned him the rank of Class I Gazetted Officer (Lieutenant) in 1985, and ultimately, Colonel in 2007.
Service Beyond Uniform
After retirement, Colonel Mishra continued to serve society with the same dedication that defined his military life. As District President of Ex-Servicemen Associations across Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar, and Siddharth Nagar, and as Vice-Chairman, Zila Sainik Bandhu, he helped countless veterans resolve their issues and build stronger community ties.
He also established a Sainik Hospital for ex-servicemen in collaboration with the district administration, and founded Suraksha Academy, where over 22 youth have been successfully guided into the Indian Armed Forces. His role as a career counselor, environmental educator, and district coordinator for Youth for Nation reflects his deep commitment to nurturing the next generation of responsible citizens.
A Living Tribute: Rajeshwari Mishra Natural Farm
The turning point in his life came with the loss of his wife, Mrs. Rajeshwari Mishra, a courageous and visionary woman who fought cancer with dignity and strength. In her memory, Colonel Mishra established the Rajeshwari Mishra Natural Agriculture & Horticulture Farm — a living tribute to her spirit and resilience.
Spread over several acres in Dubkhara village, Basti (U.P.), this farm is a hub of biodiversity, featuring cancer-resistant and medicinal plants sourced from across India and abroad — including Star Gooseberry, Elephant Fruit, Ram Fruit (Australia), Lakshmi Taru (Paradise Tree), Avocado (U.S.), Passion Fruits (Kerala), and many others. His farm also cultivates over 43 varieties of mangoes, 19 varieties of guava, 4 types of medicinal rice, and dozens of rare species from Asia and Africa.
Today, farmers from 16 states look up to Colonel Mishra as a mentor and role model. Without any government assistance, he promotes organic and natural farming, empowering thousands of farmers to adopt eco-friendly methods and increase their income. His work represents a fusion of discipline, innovation, and compassion — values deeply aligned with the vision of Vish Mukt Vishwa.
Guardian of Culture & Environment
Colonel Mishra’s commitment extends beyond agriculture. For over a decade, he has led initiatives under the Sanatan Dharma Sanstha — organizing character-building camps, Indian New Year celebrations, Agnihotra-based environment purification, and revival of cultural traditions among school children through Shri Ram Leela performances.
He has planted and inspired the plantation of over 9,000 trees, spreading awareness about ecological balance and environmental stewardship throughout the Basti division.
A Torchbearer of Vish Mukt Vishwa
Through his life’s journey, Colonel Mishra stands as a shining example of how military leadership can evolve into environmental leadership. His dedication to a toxin-free, sustainable future perfectly resonates with the mission of Vish Mukt Vishwa — a world guided by purity, discipline, and harmony between man and nature.
